AMD showed the world's first GPU, manufactured on a 7-nm process technology and augmented with 32 GB of memory

In addition to the announcement of the 32-core desktop processor, AMD also pleased its fans with a demonstration of the world's first GPU manufactured according to the 7-nanometer process. This prototype Vega chip will be part of the AMD Instinct line, designed to accelerate the fulfillment of the tasks of machine learning. Also AMD head Lisa Su assured that this technology will also appear in gaming graphics solutions Radeon.

So far, AMD is not in a hurry to share information about the technical characteristics of the prototype of the new Vega graphics processor. It is known only that it has significant dimensions and is complemented by four memory stacks with high capacity (HBM2) with a total capacity of 32 GB. AMD demonstrated the performance of the new chip in the rendering tasks in Cinema 4D.

At the present time, AMD has already started to supply its hardware partners with samples of the Vega Instinct chip made according to the 7-nanometer process. The official presentation of the novelty is planned to be held before the end of this year.
