AMD introduced a quartet of new Ryzen CPUs, including an energy-efficient eight-core model Ryzen 7 2700E with a frequency of 4 GHz and a TDP of 45 W

AMD today unveiled the long-awaited quad-core Ryzen second-generation processors for AM4, in addition to the two new energy-efficient options for existing processor models E-series.

Processor Number of cores / threads Rated frequency / Boost, GHz Cache memory L3, MB TDP, W
Ryzen 5 2500X 4/8 3.6-4.0 8 65
Ryzen 3 2300X 4/4 3.5-4.0 8 65
Ryzen 7 2700E 8/16 2.8-4.0 16 [1 9659004] 45
Ryzen 5 2600E 6/12 3,1-4,0 16 45

Unlike predecessors created from Summit Ridge crystals by combining two quad-core Zen CCX (CPU-Complex) blocks, in each of which two cores are disconnected, the new 2500X and 2300X use a Pinnacle Ridge crystal with one fully active Zen + CCX block containing four processor cores. That is, the new chips are organized according to the 4 + 0 scheme, but only the Ryzen 5 2500X supports the technology of multithreaded data processing.

As for the energy-efficient versions of the familiar Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E, both differ from the original models in lower frequencies and, respectively, lower TDP.

Alas, prices for new CPUs have not been reported. It is expected that Ryzen 3 2300X will cost about $ 120-130, and Ryzen 5 2500X – about $ 160-170.

The new CPU will be distributed by OEM channels, that is, they can be found in the finished systems of different manufacturers. The game desktop Acer Nitro 50 will be one of the first devices with AMD Ryzen 5 2500X and Ryzen 3 2300X processors.

Last week, AMD introduced the low-cost APU Athlon 200GE (and its version of Pro), as well as the second generation Ryzen Pro processor family .
