"16-core instead of 6-nuclear": AMD is ready to exchange the won Intel Core i7-8086K for the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X (but only in the US and only 40 pieces)

Simultaneously with the announcement of the "anniversary" processor Core i7-8086K , released on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the legendary chip 8086, Intel announced the free distribution of 8086 copies of the chip in a special campaign. And now the "answer" from AMD arrived, and it is very original.

Chipmeyker from Sunnyvale reported about his own action, within the framework of which those who wish from among lucky winners who won one of the free Intel Core i7-8086K chips can make an exchange, its order flagship model Threadripper 1950X (16 cores / 32 stream, 3.4 / 4 GHz). The main condition for the exchange is that the original Intel CPU package should be intact, AMD will announce the details of the exchange program on June 25.

Unfortunately, the AMD stock in our country is not available, however, like the original Intel stock. In addition, only 40 people can participate in this program.

On the one hand, the answer is very decent, given the difference between the number of physical cores in the chips, and the fact that the Threadripper 1950X without shares and discounts in the US is more than doubled more expensive – $ 1000 against $ 430. On the other hand, 40 processors are not 8086. But in any case, AMD's marketing department can be praised, as they attracted the attention of the media and the public, and considerable.
